A hybrid between an adventure race and a bit of craic, the Connemara Rough Diamond Funventure is a mix of biking, running and hiking with quirky obstacles thrown in for good measure which offer the opportunity to acquire time bonus points.
Expect the unexpected, like the 4 furlongs John Wayne-themed human steeple chase, a beach dash and the ‘Fear Gorta’ assault course in the woods. And just when you think it’s all over, you’ll need to tackle the 7.5km run to the Rough Diamond Summit. This event is designed to be an electrifying athletic experience and one hell of a roller coaster of fun, guaranteed to test your sense of humour, nerve, fitness and resolve.<br><br>
But when it’s all over you can chill-out with your fellow competitors in the relaxed atmosphere of the Rough Diamond after-party.
Kicking off at high noon on Lettergesh Beach in Renvyle, Co Galway, this event is about having fun in the outdoors while challenging the athlete within. It is accessible to all levels of fitness. There is free camping and parking onsite so why not bring your mates or family along and make a weekend of it.

Corrib Climbing Courses is a summer experience open to all from ages 8 and up. No prior climbing experience is needed to take part. Our indoor climbing wall is a safe and enjoyable environment in which to learn and develop rock climbing skills. We include knowledge of equipment and climbing grades, teach safe and correct techniques for climbing belaying and abseiling, with continuous emphasis on fun
Our weekly courses are open to children, teenagers and adults. It’s a very interactive experience in which to develop climbing skills, meet new people and have great fun while doing it!

Curra West Golf Course is an 18-hole parkland course located in the heart of South East Galway, on the main R351 Road between Loughrea and Woodford. Most holes are surrounded by bunkers and mounds, there are water features on two holes with attractive tree lined fairways. <br><br>

Take to the stunning hills of Connemara and find out what man and machine can do! With the aid of your instructor, you will be tackling the varying terrains and obstacles that the Wild West of Ireland has to offer. With the Twelve Pins Mountains as our backdrop we will be bumping and ploughing our way over mud bog and rock. Winches will be used along the way with all appropriate safety gear which is provided along with full training. A lunch is also included in the day’s activities. All training is provided in accordance with Australian Adventure Activity Standards and PUWER Regulations 1998. Tea, coffee and a breakfast roll will start the day. A lunch is also included in the days activities. After the induction & safety briefing it’s out to the driving areas and on with the fun.

The Connemara Trail, run by Aille Cross Equestrian Centre is not just for riders, but for anyone who enjoys other activities in a peaceful Irish atmosphere. Connemara a vast region where you will meet a man with a very original personaiity, Willie Leahy; the very incarnation of an lrish horseman, who will be your guide during a week or more of trekking through the gaelic West. For beginners and experienced riders alike, Willie Leahy provides the suitable horse and leads you to the discovery of the Connemara / Coast Trails. Six days or more of exciting and relaxing holidays, where, after you spending four to six hours a day on horseback, you are accommodated in luxurious hotels or guesthouses while the horses graze freely in a nearby field. <br><br>Guided by this friendly centaure, you cross the wild green hills, the rust coloured bogs through which, alone an experienced man knows his way. Among castle and manor ruins and along mountain paths, there is a picnic stop. The Trails are not confined to horselovers. On demand, many activities such as river fishing and deep-sea fishing, golf, cycling, mountain climbing or walking the little deserted roads, swimming etc. can be organised. Non-riders will meet their riding Partners every evening to share their daily experience in the hotel pub.
