It’s has been seeping up stories since it evolved from a lively country stores trading potatoes in the iconic Woodquay Market, into a sanctuary to catch-up, hide-away, eat, drink, laugh and make memories.

McSwiggan’s offers visitors a welcoming and relaxed environment whilst retaining its traditional family-run spirit that has become synonymous with it. We provide honest wholesome hospitality at a fair price with top quality food and drinks served by friendly people who love what they do. Our award-winning restaurant serves delicious dishes and offers a warm and vibrant ambience over three floors and our traditional ground floor market bar is a local institution.

McSwiggan’s offers something really special – a fantastic wide-ranging menu, with Irish, European and Eastern influences there are delicious choices to suit all palettes and purses. Whether you are feeling more indulgent or would like something lighter (including lots of great gluten-free options), all our food is carefully prepared from the freshest, local, top quality ingredients.

Famed for our succulent steaks our beef is cut to your taste and cooked to perfection at 350 [degrees symbol] in our unique Josper charcoal oven, which means all the flavour and all of the juiciness is sealed in.

Our commitment to quality food, extensive wine list and a real love for what we do has made us popular with families and friends looking for full flavours, innovative ideas and dishes prepared by passionate chefs.

Market Bar

Our expert team look forward to welcoming you for a crisp glass of white, a warming whiskey or the perfect pint. Hide away in one of our cosy nooks and chill out by the fire or get together with friends and enjoy great live music at the weekends.

We have a comprehensive wine menu that has been carefully selected from Chilean and French whites to bold Argentinian reds. Our cocktail menu provides many delicious and unique recipes all made with the freshest ingredients.

Event Space

We cater for all events and occasions from large corporate gatherings to intimate family celebrations. Our dedicated events team can tailor the perfect event for you so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy.

With almost 10,000 square foot of hospitality space McSwiggan’s can accommodate everything from small intimate gatherings to large exclusive events of up to 370 seated or 500 standing. We have an array of private and semi-private spaces throughout our 220 seat restaurant and 150 seat bar.
