Aloha Surf School runs surfing lessons in the heart of the Burren at Fanore Beach, Co. Clare, Ireland. Because of it's relative remoteness from heavily populated centres, it does not enjoy the fame attached to less attractive but better known surf destinations in Ireland such as Lahinch. All the better for those who go there! The beautiful Fanore Beach with all it's space, solitude and uncrowded surf provides the ideal location for those wanting to learn to surf. Surfing with Aloha Surf School in Fanore allows surfers to escape the masses and really enjoy the surfing experience. At our surf school, we offer professional surfing instruction for people of all ages and abilities. No experience necessary and all equipment is provided. Aloha Surf School is an Irish Surfing Association Level 2 Approved Surf School.

If you have never climbed before or usually climb on an indoor climbing wall, Bens Rockclimbing Clinic offers you the chance to come and experience climbing in the beautiful Burren, Co. Clare. Courses and one off sessions are available for all levels. You are free to climb, abseil and push your boundaries higher than you ever thought you could. The Burren is the Mecca of climbing in Ireland. Its unique limestone landscape is a treasure trove of climbing areas with a vast variety of routes and types of climbs. <br><br>Bens Climbing Clinic generally use three main areas in the Burren. The Ballyryan and Ailladie which are located On the Lisdoonvarna to Ballyvaughan road and also the Scailp na Seisri close to Bell Harbour, which is a good option when the weather is wet and wild, because it is in a gorge it is relatively sheltered even in the worst of weathers. Rockclimbing lessons generally run for two hours with a basic introduction to equipment, safety procedures and climbing techniques. Normally beginners get 2 to 3 climbs and an abseil or two in this time. Weekly courses and sessions are also available.

Take to the stunning hills of Connemara and find out what man and machine can do! With the aid of your instructor, you will be tackling the varying terrains and obstacles that the Wild West of Ireland has to offer. With the Twelve Pins Mountains as our backdrop we will be bumping and ploughing our way over mud bog and rock. Winches will be used along the way with all appropriate safety gear which is provided along with full training. A lunch is also included in the day’s activities. All training is provided in accordance with Australian Adventure Activity Standards and PUWER Regulations 1998. Tea, coffee and a breakfast roll will start the day. A hybrid between an adventure race and a bit of craic, the Connemara Rough Diamond Funventure is a mix of biking, running and hiking with quirky obstacles thrown in for good measure which offer the opportunity to acquire time bonus points. Expect the unexpected, like the 4 furlongs John Wayne-themed human steeple chase, a beach dash and the ‘Fear Gorta’ assault course in the woods. And just when you think it’s all over, you’ll need to tackle the 7.5km run to the Rough Diamond Summit. This event is designed to be an electrifying athletic experience and one hell of a roller coaster of fun, guaranteed to test your sense of humour, nerve, fitness and resolve.<br><br> But when it’s all over you can chill-out with your fellow competitors in the relaxed atmosphere of the Rough Diamond after-party. Kicking off at high noon on Lettergesh Beach in Renvyle, Co Galway, this event is about having fun in the outdoors while challenging the athlete within. It is accessible to all levels of fitness. There is free camping and parking onsite so why not bring your mates or family along and make a weekend of it. Entry costs €60 per person and you can compete or as part of a team. The Shannon estuary is home to Ireland’s only resident group of bottlenose dolphins. Over 100 dolphins have been identified using the estuary at different times; calves are born each year and are usually encountered in the groups observed. Cruises depart from the Kilrush marina on board the new vessel “Dolphin Discovery”.
