Karting FAQs
What is the longest karting track in Ireland?
Pallas Karting in Tynagh, County Galway, has Ireland’s longest go-kart course. The track has a length of 1,500 meters, or around 0.93 miles. Drivers of all ages and ability levels are welcome on this difficult course, which features a variety of bends and curves.

How fast do go karts go?
The top speeds of various go-kart varieties are listed below:
Indoor go-karts: Due to safety considerations, indoor go-kart speeds are often restricted to 25–35 mph (40–56 km/h). This is due to the fact that indoor tracks are frequently smaller and feature more tightly spaced curves, which might increase the hazard of traveling at a fast speed.
Outdoor go-karts: The normal top speed for an outdoor go-kart is up to 85mph. The actual top speed, however, will be influenced by the kart’s engine size and the track’s circumstances.
It’s crucial to understand that a go-kart’s perceived speed is not just based on its top speed. The weight, aerodynamics, and track surface of the kart can all have an impact on its speed. A kart with a clean track surface will feel faster than a kart with a rough track surface, for instance, and a lighter kart will feel faster than a heavier kart.
What age can kids start karting?
Some courses let kids as young as 5 to begin karting, however this is the exception and children usually must wait until they are at least 8 years old to start, as this is when they can start competing in karting competitions.
How tall do you need to be for go-karting at Pallas karting in Galway
There is also a minimum age requirement of 10 years for the 500m track and 16 years for the 1500m track. This is because the 1500m track is more challenging and requires some driving experience.
