Connemara Bog Week 2010

This is the 26th year of the Connemara Bog Week which takes place this May with lots of special events being planned. The week is packed with a mix of music, sport, craic & stunning landscapes. Included in the week is the Conamara Walkabout, three gentle days of walking in a magical landscape in the company of scientists, musicians, poets and artists. This year also sees the introduction of two Cycle Races and the launch of the Connemara Lamb Pie in Renvyle House Hotel.

Throughout the ten-day event, there will be sessions in pubs, hostels, hotels and schools, as well as music workshops covering a wide variety of instruments. Artists taking part include the Kane sisters, Mick Kinsella, Dessie O'Halloran, Mary Staunton, Tola Custy and many more…

Those wishing to know more about the unique local landscape can enjoy bog walks on with a local expert, while a Connemara Walkabout is planned over the Bank Holiday weekend. For more information see www.ceecc.org
