The first Galway Bike Festival takes place from June 18 to 26 and promises to be a spectacular event, with a big launch party in Eyre Square on the 18th of June, with music, fun games and lots and lots of bicycles.
The festival, which is part of national bike week, is taking place in a city outside Dublin for the first time.
Part of the programme of events will include a ‘Family Friendly Mass Cycle’ from Eyre Square to Salthill and back on Saturday, June 18.
Other events will include a teachers’ cycling competition, a ‘critical mass’ cycle through the streets of the city, children’s races in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital, a treasure hunt, and a ‘Wild West Tour’ of Connemara.
