2026 Festive Market in Galway City 🎄
For Christmas 2026 the City of the Tribes is once again expected to sparkle with the magnificent Galway Christmas Market from mid-November 2026 to 31st December 2026.
The Galway Continental Christmas Market, now in its 16th year received over 450,000 visitors last year and there were more than 50 wooden chalets located Eyre Square along with the Big Wheel, Carousel, Santa’s Grotto, the German Bier Keller along with numerous other theatrical delights throughout the six week fair.
Christmas Market Opening Hours ⏰
Monday – Wednesday: 12 noon – 8pm (bar until 10pm)
Thursday – Saturday: 10am – 10pm
Sunday: 10am – 8pm
The 2026 Christmas Market is the fifteenth year of the market in Galway and visitors can expect to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment and stalls located in Eyre Square in Galway City centre. It is expected that this year will once again feature amusement rides including a 32 metre high Big Wheel and traditional Carousel, Santa’s Express Train, live adult choirs and a Santa’s Grotto.
Food lovers can feast on a bratwurst, French pastries, pretzels or confectionery, crêpes and waffles, while families and friends can enjoy a walk through the enchanted light gardens providing the backdrop for a Christmas Market photo, stop off at Santa’s postbox, interact with local charities and much more.

Bier Tent at the Christmas Market 🍻
The famous Bier Keller at Galway Christmas Market opens daily serving drinks from 5pm until 10pm. From Monday to Sunday you can enjoy mulled wines, hot toddy’s, cocktails or any of their vast array of great beers. VIP tickets for the Galway Christmas Market Beer Tent are available on RoisinDubh.net, offering priority seating and queue-skipping perks. Walk-ins are welcome, but VIP tickets guarantee faster entry during peak times. Slots are available at 5pm and 8pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 5pm only on weekends. Tickets cost €6 and must be used within 30 minutes of your reserved time.
