A lively warm and cosy pub with open fires and a great atmosphere, Monroe's is lively spot for traditional music and ballads in Galway City. Monroe's remains the only pub in the city for regular Irish dancing (on Tuesday's). You can take pizzas through to the bar from Galway's best pizza joint, the attached Monroe's Pizza Cabin. Upstairs has a large and popular nightclub with live bands and smoking area.

Hidden Connemara Tours provide a range of guided walking tours of the beautiful Connemara region in the west of Ireland. The tour departs from Galway coach station on Forster Street at 9:30am with a pick up opposite Salthill tourist office at 9:45am and returns to Galway at approx 5:30pm. The tour involves a variety of trails in the Connemara Region including Diamond Hill, Maum Ochóige and Máméan.

Galway City Karting is a fun activity for adults and kids alike. They can organise Go Karting race meetings for larger groups and arrive and drive for those that wish to turn up and race. Ideally located near the motorway, access to the venue is very easy. Spectators are welcome for any events so if you have friends who want to come down to watch the go karting you can bring them along too.

Kennys have been selling books and art in Galway since 1940. Shop thousands of books in their new bookshop in Liosbán, only 20min walk from the City Centre. The Kenny Gallery hosts some 14 solo exhibitions, in addition to many group shows, during the year. Check website for signings, art demos, exhibition openings etc. Mon to Sat 9am to 5pm. Galway Atlantaquaria is the National Aquarium of Ireland and one of the West of Ireland’s premier attractions. It’s home to 170 marine and freshwater species. Highlights include seahorses, stingrays, sharks and an enormous skeleton of a Fin Whale.

The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top attractions. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 km over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare. The cliffs boast one of Ireland's most spectacular views. On a clear day the Aran Islands are visible in Galway Bay, as are the valleys and hills of Connemara.

There are many animals living on the cliffs. Most of these are birds, with an estimated 30,000 birds from 29 species. These include the noted Atlantic Puffins, which live in large colonies at isolated parts of the cliffs and on the small Goat Island. Also present are hawks, gulls, guillemots, shags, ravens and choughs. A new interpretive centre is now open at the Cliffs of Moher exploring different elements of the cliffs. Housed at the centre of the underground building a huge domed cave contains images, exhibits, displays & experiences that will delight young and old alike.

O'Hallorans Caravan and Camping Park is a family camping grounds in Salthill, overlooking Galway Bay and on the city bus service (buses every 30 mins. Hot showers, gated park and picnic benches for campers. The nearest caravan park to Salthill & Galway city. Opens May 1st - September 30th
Just 200 metres from O'Hallorans is Bayview Caravan and Camping Park. It is also a family run business offering mobile homes for hire (2 & 3 bedroom) from April - September. In recent years it has become increasingly popular for camper/motor homes, and this facility is available all year around.

The Moondance Festival 2009 is a three day camping festival in the grounds of Petersburg House, Clonbur, Co. Galway on 14, 15, 16th August. Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre is an ideal location, providing ample space and facilities for a great weekend by the shores of Lough Mask.

Music acts confirmed so far include Lisa Hannigan, Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club, Jape, Kila, Noelie Mc Donnell & Band , Mairtin O Connor and band, Guggenheim Grotto, Joe Fury & The Hayride, The Galway Gospel Choir, No Banjo, Timber Tramps, Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, with more acts soon to be announced. A family-friendly festival, Moondance is also offering arts workshops, yoga, theatre performance, storytelling, stand-up comedy , art exhibitions and the return of The Mask Ball.

Petersburg Outdoor Activity Centre will be providing opportunities for adults and children to partake in Canoeing, Kayaking and Windsurfing. There will be guided walks all weekend through the Clonbur Woods, with bicycle hire also available.
