Full programme yet to be confirmed. Highlights of the 2017 included an exceptional concert by the RTE Contempo quartet with Fionnula Moynihan and the RTE concert orchestra with gifted soloist Sir James Galway.
Stockton’s Wing, who have performed with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli, took part in the film production of the John B. Keane play “The Field” and their song “Beautiful affair” was voted into the top 75 songs in the history of RTE radio, celebrated 40 years of the festival and performed a live concert from their vast and eclectic back catalogue of recordings.
Community Arts Week began life as a week-long celebration of the arts for the children of Clifden Community School - helping to develop artistic and social skills, and provide an outlet for self-expression and development. Over the years Arts Week at the school gave such pleasure to the greater community that an encompassing and fervent support network grew around it, allowing it to develop. Many of the dramatists, graphic designers and copywriters that work on the festival every year were once the children that attended Clifden Community School, and are now delighted to contribute their professional services.
