Galway International Oyster Festival (22nd - 24th September 2017)

Galway International Oyster Festival The Galway International Oyster Festival, now in its 61st year takes place from 22nd - 26th September 2017. Events over the 3 days include the Best Dressed Lady competition, Street Party in the Latin Quarter and the Guinness World Oyster Opening Championships. For the best in gourmet seafood, live music and the best Guinness in town, it has to be the Galway Oyster Festival.

OPENING NIGHT

Live music, sensational seafood, mouth watering dining and the National Oyster Opening Championship will kick start the weekend's celebrations. Beginning with the opening ceremony, our newly crowned Oyster Pearl will present the season's first oyster to Galway's Mayor - a tradition since 1954.

WORLD OYSTER OPENING CHAMPIONSHIP

A non-stop afternoon of entertainment and festival fun awaits; The World Oyster Opening Championship, international food village, live music and celebrity guests.
