Traidphicnic is back for the fifth year. This wonderful festival, celebrating our vibrant culture and traditions, will run in the Gaeltacht village of Spiddal on Friday 30th June to 02nd July 2017.
A fantastic packed programme, run bi-lingually, brings you top class traditional music gigs, along with family events during the day. A wonderful line-up has been confirmed for 2017 including:

Comóradh Cheol Paddy Fahy le Liz Kane, Breda Keville, Liz Coleman, Caoimhe Grogan & John Blake
Porthead, An Tara, Athrú, Glor NadTonn, Ná Bac.
Events are free of charge with the exception of the music workshops which will take place on the Saturday morning, however the Traidphicnic committee will gratefully accept donations throughout the weekend.
For the youngsters, the young at heart, and the non Trad enthusiasts, there will be a drumming workshop and puppet shows, wool spinning, a chance to participate in an art installation as well as the chance to try out sean-nós dancing. For the more seasoned festival goer, along with the finest musical talents to listen to there will also be information sessions on how to make a violin as well as the chance to sample our native culture. And for someone looking for a little respite from the buzz of the festival, there will be a walk along the stunning coastline and countryside.
Music sessions will take place in local pubs each night and visitors can experience first-hand the warmth of the local welcome and of course the most famous aspect of the Irish culture ‘The Craic’!
Come along to the festival, bring your own picnic, suncream, sunglasses, wellies, raingear…. and experience the culture of both the Gaeltacht and Ireland.
