About Galway Senior County Hurling

Galway GAA, also known as the Galway County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, is the governing body for Gaelic games in County Galway with hurling being one of the two main sports played under the Galway GAA umbrella. Galway has a proud tradition in both hurling, with the Galway senior hurling team having won five All-Ireland titles, with the most recent coming in 2017. The team has also won the National Hurling League ten times. Galway’s most successful club in hurling is Portumna having won six county titles and four All-Ireland titles between 2006 and 2014. In addition to its success on the field, Galway GAA is also known for its passionate supporters, who can often be seen cheering on their teams in large numbers at matches both at home and away.
