The highest quality guesthouses in our opinion are Balcony House on College Road or Sli Na Mara in Salthill, both of which are only a short stroll into Galway city centre and come highly recommend.
What Connemara B&B is the best if you want to explore the area?
With so many places to stay in the vast region of Connemara you’ll be spoilt for choice. In Clifden, you’ll find it hard to beat Clifden Bay Lodge with great sea views. To have the benefit of both Galway city and Connemara, Mountain View Guesthouse in Oughterard in a good option. In south Connemara we love Padraicins B&B overlooking Furbo Beach which also has a pub and restaurant too.

On average you can expect to pay approximately 20 – 30% less for a guesthouse in Galway compared to the same night in a hotel. In the off season of Autumn, Winter and Spring you should be able to stay for less than €90 per night, in Summer the price increases significantly.
