There are four islands near Galway that are linked to the mainland by regular ferry services. The Aran Islands are the most popular islands for visitors and ferry services to all three islands depart from both Rossaveal in Connemara and Doolin in county Clare. If travelling to Inishbofin you must board at Cleggan Pier near Clifden. Ferries to Clare Island and Inishturk depart from Roonagh Pier in county Mayo.
