Killary Fjord Boat Tours: what to expect
Take a catamaran boat to see Ireland’s only fjord. The voyage provides a breathtaking perspective of the untamed North Connemara terrain, which is sandwiched between the Mweelrea Mountain to the north and the Twelve Bens and Maumturk mountain ranges to the south. Secluded and perfect for fishing, the Killary Fjord features circular salmon farms and mussel ropes, supplying some of Ireland’s best seafood. Local folklore abounds in the vicinity of the fjord’s mouth, encompassing tales of Big Ned Joyce, German and British U-boats, and the fabled character Diarmuid O’Duibhne.
