FAQs about Kayakmór
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
While you should be comfortable in the water, you do not need to be an Olympic swimmer. Everyone is required to wear a high-quality buoyancy aid at all times, and the stable sea kayaks are very difficult to capsize.
What should I bring?
Bring a swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit, a towel, and a pair of old sneakers or water shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. A warm hat and sunscreen are also recommended, regardless of the forecast!
Are children allowed?
Yes! Kayakmór offers family-friendly sessions. Generally, children aged 12 and over can participate in standard tours, while younger children can often be accommodated in double kayaks with an adult.

About the Galway Kayak Trips
Kayakmór, sea kayaking in Galway Bay cater for all levels of kayaking from beginners to experts and tailor our trips to suit. Kayakmór offers half or full day trips at a range of stunning locations; the inlets of Galway Bay, bays and beaches of Connemara, or on the large inland lakes of Lough Corrib and Lough Mask, dotted with hundreds of Islands.
Tip: If you’re staying in Galway City, the City Tour is a “must-do.” Paddling into the heart of the city through the Spanish Arch offers an incredible perspective for photos. Bring a waterproof camera or a dry pouch for your phone, and don’t forget a change of socks—you might stay dry, but a little Atlantic spray is part of the fun!
