Galway Country Houses FAQs

What are the most beautiful country houses in Galway?
Galway is blessed to have a great selection of wonderful period homes to stay in around County Galway and there are simply too many to mention. The top country houses in our opinion are Delphi Lodge, a delightful 1830s fishing lodge in one of the most spectacular settings in Connemara Ireland. Currarevagh House, is also an early Victorian home, surrounded by 180 acres of wooded parkland on the shores of Lough Corrib, Rosleague Manor, secluded overlooking Ballinakill Bay near Letterfrack in North Connemara. Also worth noting is Lisdonagh House, an early Georgian Manor with lovely views over its own lake.
What country houses in Galway have the best views?
Most of the country houses in county Galway enjoy lovely views of the Galway coastline or Lough Corrib. Screebe House in Rosmuc, South Connemara overlooks Camus Bay and has it’s own pier and inland fishing runs and deer which roam freely over their 45,000 acres. Cashel House Hotel is a 19th century country home overlooking Cashel Bay, a home from home with log fires, fresh local seafood and a perfect base for exploring the Aran Islands. Lough Inagh Lodge has probably the most stunning backdrop of all county houses in Galway, looking out over the Twelve Bens and overlooked by the Maumturks mountain range and a traditional stops for hikers travelling The Western Way walking trail.
