Galway beer gardens FAQs

What pubs in Galway serve good food?
For great food in the comfort of a traditional Irish pub setting, the best options are John Keoghs, or Monroes in the West End on Lower Dominick Street which both have comprehensive menu choices. Uptown, An Pucan on Forster Street and McGinn’s in Woodquay combine fine selections of craft beers, ciders and wine along with good pub food to satisfy all tastes.
What bars in Galway have good outdoor dining?
There are a large selection of pubs with outdoor dining throughout Galway, however in our opinion Carroll’s on Dominick Street with their elaborate, quirky beer garden set-up, combined with double decker bus serving amazing street food is hard to beat. However Taylor’s on Dominick Street and RM. McCabes in Salthill are also highly regarded and worth visiting.
What are the best pubs with smoking areas in Galway?
In the past few years the choice of pubs with comfortable, sheltered outdoor seating areas, where you can enjoy a drink has increased dramatically. Almost every bar offers some space outside, big or small where you can have some banter with friends. If you like watching the world go by you could do worse than find a spot outside Ti Neachtain on Quay Street, Garavans on Shop Street or Sonny Molloys on High Street. On a grander scale you should consider An Pucan or O’Connells off Eyre Square where you feel like you’re entering another world altogether.
