The unique Island of Inishbofin is located only 10 kilometers off the north Connemara coast, and is only a 30 minute crossing from the idyllic fishing village of Cleggan, just minutes drive from Clifden.
The Ferry Service is aboard the fast, Comfortable ferry named “The Island Discovery”. Located only ninety minutes west of Galway city Cleggan is the point of departure for the Ferry service to the island.
The Island Itself, is a haven of beauty, boasting magnificent scenery from cliff top walks to the sea on all sides to white sandy beaches and an abundance of rare flora and fauna.

Preparing for your trip
Planning your arrival in Cleggan is key, especially during the busier summer months.
Parking in Cleggan: Visitors are not permitted to bring cars onto Inishbofin. Private car parks are available on the left as you enter Cleggan village, costing roughly €4.00 per day.
Public Transport: Citylink operates a direct bus service from Galway Coach Station to Cleggan Pier, which is timed to coordinate with several ferry departures.
Check-in: It is recommended to arrive at the pier at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time during the high season, or 15 minutes during the winter.
