Ireland’s annual night of celebrating culture
Galway Culture Night is expected to take place on Friday, 18 September 2026. The event is now in its 20th year and provides free access to museums, galleries, theatres and public buildings from 5pm until midnight offering tours, exhibitions, readings, performances, films, drama, poetry, music, dance, workshops and lectures, all free of charge!
What is the purpose of Galway Culture Night?
Culture night takes place annually throughout the island of Ireland, usually on the 3rd Friday of September. The idea behind the event is to celebrate all aspects of Irish multicultural life, particularly with regards to creativity and the arts. The event aim to maintain, promote and enhance the rich culture we have here in Ireland and showcase the multitude of cultural places for people to discover in Galway City.
