Oscar Wilde reminds us that although we are all in the gutter, some of us are looking at the stars.
The Galway Astronomy Festival now in its 22nd year, has become one of the most popular events in Ireland of the Irish astronomical calendar, where amateurs and professionals meet, essential for exchanging information, successful stargazing and mutual progress.

This year, the Galway Astronomy Club will once again hold AstroFest in person at its preferred location in the Menlo Park Hotel in Galway on 30 January 2027 (tbc).
This event, which features a number of speeches, trade exhibits, photographic displays, and a lunchtime workshop with a leading astronomy expert, is not to be missed by anyone with an interest in astronomy and science.
For anyone interested in astronomy and science, this event is not to be missed as it includes a series of talks, trade displays, photographic displays and a free lunchtime workshop for attendees.
Children over 11 who are interested in science and space are welcome to attend the seminars, which are intended for a general audience yet appeal to both scientists and laypeople.
The program will conclude with a festival dinner when attendees will have the opportunity to mingle and converse with one another.
