Sheridan’s will seduce any cheese lover that walks through the door. In addition to a comprehensive range of Irish cheeses, Sheridan’s also sells exotic, flavoured cheeses from elsewhere in Europe. Samples are readily given, and the staff are generally happy to chat about all things foodie. Speciality condiments and delicacies are also available, including stuffed olives and sundried tomatoes. Located beside St. Nicholas’ Church, their charming shop now includes a Wine Bar and Wine Shop upstairs, offering a curated selection of European wines. Saturdays are vibrant, with the bustling farmers market outside—perfect for sampling cheese, sipping wine, and soaking up Galway life. Weekdays offer a quieter experience to browse, taste, and chat with passionate staff and local producers.
