The Design
The 5,000 square meter boutique hotel has 100 rooms. The hotel, which is close to Eyre Square, is the ideal fusion of old and new. The complex contains distinctive historical elements, including an 1830s two-story stone building and a section of the 1890s Galway to Clifden railway tunnel. These distinctive elements have been painstakingly restored and incorporated into the layout of this new hotel.

Including the first Elephant & Castle in the West of Ireland as well as Sophie’s Restaurant & Rooftop Terrace, which offers breathtaking views of Galway City. Soon, Galway’s newest and hippest gym, POWER Gym, will also call our boutique hotel home.
There is a lot going on at The Dean Galway all under one roof. Excellent food is served at Sophie’s Rooftop Restaurant and Terrace at the top, along with breathtaking views over Galway. Since it initially opened in Dublin’s Temple Bar in 1989, the West’s first Elephant & Castle restaurant, known for its signature chicken wings, has unquestionably established itself as a well-liked staple on Galway’s thriving culinary scene.
The first of its kind in Galway City, POWER Gym is a high-end, boutique health club where visitors can indulge in top-class fitness routines or unwind in the heated outdoor pool, sauna, and steam room. One of the hotel’s most distinctive features is the gym, which is situated on the Lower Ground Floor of The Dean and makes use of and showcases the original vaulted brickwork railway tunnel. POWER will provide two distinct class ideas: POWER Run and POWER Box. These high intensity programs, led by some of Ireland’s top trainers, are intended to push you to new fitness heights while making the whole process pleasurable and exciting.
The Arts
The Dean proudly sponsors The Dean Arts Studio, a dedicated artistic hub and cultural venue in Dublin that offers free studio space to over 20 artists. The Dean and the Irish Museum of Modern Art are creative collaborators. Art is a key component throughout The Dean Galway. The curated art collection of Sync & Swim aims to encourage and promote Irish art, particularly local artists from the area near the hotel.
