Festival of the Sea
About the sea festival
Immerse yourself in all things maritime at the Festival of the Sea which takes place annually in the villages of Cleggan and Claddaghduff. Now in its 46th year the Festival sees the various communities on the Aughrus Peninsula come together to promote and celebrate their coastal and cultural heritage with a fun festival for all ages.
The Family Sports Day along with the Omey Dash Duathlon are special events for the more energetic festival goers, but there are also several cultural events and walking tours including the children’s shore walk and late night Bat Walk too. The festival also includes a craft fair, arts workshops, live music sessions and a golfing competition to ensure there is something for all tastes, not forgetting the now legendary Seafood Buffet in Oliver’s Pub in Cleggan.
The 2023 Festival of the Sea promises to be bigger and better than ever with an expanded Programme of Events, yet to be confirmed.
