About the extreme obstacle race 🤎

The Turf Warrior Challenge offers the chance to round off the season in a flurry of mud and sweat on the banks of Killary Harbour in Co. Galway. The deceptively short 10km course is packed full of climbing, swinging, leaps into the Atlantic and all kinds of other mayhem and madness. Said to be the toughest course in Ireland, it promises to test competitors’ stamina, nerve and camaraderie. The fun does not end with the race. Once they have washed the mud off, all warriors are invited to the themed party in Killary Adventure Centre.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We recommend that you wear the following.

Wetsuit
Running
Leggings
Thermal Top
Runners
Gloves

WHO SHOULD ENTER?

Although not recommended for complete couch potatoes, it is not a race that needs high levels of fitness, more determination and sense of fun. You must also be over 16yrs old but if you are under 18 years old, we will need a parental consent form too.

IS TURF WARRIOR AVAILABLE ALL YEAR ROUND?

You may not be aware but the Turf Warrior Challenge course never actually closes. Killary Adventure run the Turf Challenge year round as one of over 25 adventure activities at Killary Adventure Company in Leenane, Connemara.

IS TURF WARRIOR SUITABLE FOR GROUPS?

The Turf Warrior Challenge is a great fun event for work groups, sports teams, extended families, best friends, anyone who you can muster together and who is up for some serious craic.
