In the beautiful location of the historic Spanish Arch in Galway, Thai Garden Restaurant offers a genuine taste of Thailand, bringing “a little bit of the exotic east to the heart of the west.” This mid-range restaurant prides itself on delivering an authentic culinary experience rooted in the “Royal Cuisine” of central Thailand, where dishes are meticulously prepared with a delicate balance of sour, sweet, and spicy notes.
The Food
At the helm is native Thai head chef Thawatchai, who ensures every dish, from the fiery Gang Dang red curry to the traditional Pad Thai, is prepared with fresh, MSG-free ingredients. The restaurant’s commitment to authenticity extends to its in-house made sauces and the use of the finest locally sourced produce from reputable suppliers. Beyond central Thai specialities, Thai Garden also features chef’s specials representing all four regional styles of Thailand, including Northern, Isaan, and Southern.
Thai Garden is renowned for its inclusivity, offering extensive dedicated menus for vegetarians, vegans, and coeliacs, ensuring everyone can savor the vibrant flavors. A children’s menu is also available, making it a welcoming destination for families. Guests can choose from a daily à la carte menu or enjoy the value of the early bird menu, available Sunday to Friday.

The restaurant’s warm and inviting ambiance is enhanced by its experienced and dedicated team, many of whom are originally from Thailand and have been with Thai Garden since its opening in 1999. This long-standing team, including highly skilled kitchen staff with 25 years of experience, ensures a truly authentic and enjoyable dining experience. For larger gatherings, a second dining room can accommodate up to 40 people, perfect for parties and functions. Whether dining in or ordering takeaway, Thai Garden’s mission is for customers to relish the wonderful variety of flavors and tastes of Thailand. The restaurant operates Monday to Thursday from 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday to Saturday from 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and Sunday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
