A journey through old Irish farming traditions

Rathbaun Farm is located in Ardrahan, Galway’s southwest region. The 80 acres of land have been farmed by the Burke and Connolly family for more than 200 years, and Fintan Connolly is carrying on the tradition now. Visits to the farm must be scheduled in advance.
In the charming farmhouse of Rathbaun Farm in Ardrahan, County Galway, you will be guided through an exploration of Irish agricultural methods. The farm’s thatched cottage residence, turf fire, stonewalls, and assortment of animals will charm visitors.

Between March and November, there are plenty of newborn lambs available for hand feeding, and everyone is welcome to participate. You can enjoy the farm in any weather thanks to the large covered areas and the diversity of animals housed in the barns. Fintan Connolly will ensure that your tour is both educational and enjoyable by outlining the unique traits of the various sheep and cattle breeds.

You will be welcomed into the cottage by Frances and her staff for some authentic Irish hospitality, including freshly baked and home-made scones, soda breads, and jams, as well as the greatest pot of Irish tea you are likely to find anywhere in the nation. The family at Rathbaun Farm loves nothing more than to converse with tourists over tea and scones and listen to their stories. The farm has been welcoming visitors for many years.

Parking for cars and buses is no problem. All visits to the farm must be scheduled in advance; kindly call. A superb experience may be had in a magnificent environment at Rathbaun Farm.
