Outdoor Activities in Galway City 💨🏄♀️
Rusheen Bay Windsurfing is the premier windsurfing school in the West of Ireland. Situated just 5 minutes from Galway city, we are based in an enclosed bay, perfect for beginners, with calm waters and prevailing cross-onshore winds. Learn to surf at one of the annual Teen / Kids Summer Camps starting in June and running through June, July and August. Lots of windsurfing on offer but also kayaking and SUP available. All equipment provided. Advanced booking essential for Summer camps.

Tip: If you’re a first-timer, Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) at sunset in Rusheen Bay is one of the most peaceful experiences in Galway. For parents, the summer camps are incredibly popular and usually sell out by May, so book early! Also, since the water is shallow, it warms up much faster than the open sea—making it the “warmest” place to swim in the West.
