There are a handful of beautiful castle where you can spend a night in close to Galway city. The 15th century Cloonacauneen Castle on the outskirts of the Galway City is probably the closest castle to stay in near Galway city. Ballynahinch Castle is probably the most famous castle hotel in Connemara and has undergone substantial renovation and investment in recent years making it the finest place to stay in the region.
