Celebrate St. Brigid’s Day at Brigit’s Garden

Saint Brigid’s Day on February 1st annually, is a Gaelic traditional festival marking the arrival of spring. Referred to as Imbolc or Imbolg in Gaelic, it is the feast day of Saint Brigid, Ireland’s only female patron saint and Saint Brigid’s Day marks the halfway point on the calendar between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.

Brigit’s Garden is a unique family attraction in Galway and is only a short drive from the city. A visit to the garden takes you on a magical journey through the sacred spiral of the seasons into the heart of Celtic heritage and mythology, making it one of the truly exceptional environmental and cultural heritage centres in the country.

Brigit’s Garden is a Discover Science Centre and has programmes which address key strands of the SESE curriculum.

The Garden Café offers tasty wholesome cuisine with many vegetarian options made with organic ingredients sourced freshly from the gardens whenever possible.

Brigit’s Garden is located in Roscahill between Moycullen and Oughterard. It is well sign posted from the N59 main road, just a 20 minute drive north of Galway city.
