Founded by husband-and-wife team Gareth and Michelle McAllister, Ahascragh Distillers emerged from their passion for crafting high-quality spirits and their love for the charm of the Galway countryside. The distillery is committed to producing some of Ireland’s first zero-emissions whiskey and gin, powered entirely by renewable energy and cutting-edge technology.
Visitor experience and tours
Visitors can learn about this groundbreaking approach during guided tours that detail the grain-to-glass production process, the mill’s transformation, and the distillery’s sustainability efforts.
The tours are a journey through history and flavor, offering guests the chance to sample Ahascragh’s award-winning spirits. Options include the standard Visitor Experience, featuring Clan Colla whiskeys, UAIS, and Xin Gin, and the Premium Tasting Tour, which pairs premium spirits with artisanal chocolate and local cheese for a luxurious experience.
Shop & Café
After your tour, relax at the Old Mill Shop & Café, located just across the road. This cosy spot is perfect for enjoying lunch, purchasing spirits and merchandise, and observing the ongoing restoration of mill equipment salvaged from the site.
